Introduction & Teaching Philosophy:
Xu Yan has years of experience teaching languages in Chinese secondary schools, as well as, another five years experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to westerners. She generally teaches students at the intermediate and advanced Chinese proficiency level and is particularly skilled at teaching Chinese speaking, including proper phrasing and word usage. She enjoys teaching all aspects of Chinese, in particular, she finds it fascinating to discuss the key differences between Western and Asian cultures.
