Master Yang Songquan:
Master Yang Songquan was born in Chenjiagou Village, Wenxian County, Henan Province, China. This is also the birthplace of the famous Chinese Gongfu (Kung Fu), Chen Style Tai Chi. He is the 19th generation successor of Chen Style Tai Chi. He began his practice at the age of four under the coaching of Master Chen Jifu (b. Apr. 8, 1893, d. Dec. 30, 1972), a well-known eighteenth generation descendant of Chen Style Tai Chi. Greatly favored by his teacher, he made quick progress and mastered the secret of inner Tai Chi Qigong (breathing) at age seven. By age twelve, he mastered the complete lines of the following practices: the first sequence of Tai Chi, which mainly works to receive the Qi (air) from heaven and earth; the second sequence of Tai Chi, which helps keep one's health and defend oneself; the five kinds of push-hand that strengthen one's health and improve one's power and technique; and, the arts of broad sword, spear, sword and cudgel. At sixteen he began his career as a Chinese Wushu coach, representing his teacher in the provinces of Henan, Shanxi, Shandong, Sichuan, and Yunnan.
Master Yang Songquan has taught all authentic Chen style courses, such as, Tai Chi boxing, broad sword, spear, sword, and cudgel. In 1989, master Yang Songquan was invited to Beijing to teach Italian, American and Japanese Tai Chi students. In 1994 he was recognized as one of the three premier experts of Tai Chi by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd World Conference on Tai Chi Training. In recent years he been invited to teach and promote Tai Chi in many countries, including the US, Germany, and Sweden. Now he is the vice-chairman of the Chinese Folk and Traditional Wushu Masters Association, the chief coach of the Beijing Chenjiagou Tai Chi Training Center and is the exclusively-invited coach of many foreign Gongfu (Kung Fu) societies.
Master Yang Songquan has also systematically studied the Chen family medicinal methods handed down through generations. Through the combination of qigong massage, acupoint pressure, acupuncture, moxibustion, and traditional Chinese medicines, he has released many patients from their illnesses. Master Yang has been approved by the official medical research institute of China.
