Private Apartment

All CLE private apartments are fully furnished and comprise of a private bed-room, a living room, a bathroom and a kitchen. The living room has a sofa, coffee table, TV (including basic cable), dining table and chairs, internet access and a DVD player. Each bedroom consists of a bed and a large closet for clothes and personal belongings. When possible given available space in the apartment, a study desk and chair are also provided. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove, microwave and basic cooking utensils.

Plus Apartment:
Students can choose to live in one of the best and most well-known apartment complexes in all of Beijing. All apartments are in close proximity to the school, as well as, a variety of shopping, restaurants, gyms and transportation centers (so traveling to other areas by taxi, bus or subway is both easy and convenient). Plus private apartments are about a 15 minute walk to the school and are typically between 60-70 square meters. Plus private apartments are available in newer, more western style living complexes. We monitor plus apartments for overall cleanliness, convenience of the living environment and quality of the furniture and appliances. Images are of Plus Apartment options.

Standard Apartment:
More budget conscious students can select our Standard private apartment option. Standard apartments are also in close proximity to the school, as well as, shopping, restaurants, and transportation centers. Standard apartments may have minor blemishes and lack some of the more modern amenities, furniture and conveniences of the Plus accommodation option, but are they are also safe and comfortable. Standard shared apartments are about a 20 minute walk to the school, and are typically between 50-60 square meters.

What's Included with a CLE apartment?:
CLE offers accommodation as part of both our Gold and Silver package programs. Please see full package descriptions to choose the option that best fits your needs. Generally, apartments will include the following household items and services:

Silver Package Note: Silver package students are responsible for paying utility fees. All basic services will be activated prior to arrival, excluding telephone and internet. Silver package students can request that internet and/or phone service be activated prior to arrival by making a note on their application form or by sending a request to CLE.

*Additional Notes: Students choosing CLE shared or private apartments will need to pay a 2550 RMB ($375) housing deposit along with their program fees, as well as, sign a basic lease agreement upon their arrival in Beijing. If all facilities are kept well, CLE will return the deposit in full at time of accommodation check-out.

Apartments may have more furniture and amenities than listed above. Students will need to individually purchase any items they require that are not included with their accommodation packages. Please note that CLE is not responsible for minor malfunctions of household appliances, unless included as part of the accommodation package.

A plus, private studio apartment may be substituded for shorter term programs with prior notice. Apartment assignments are allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

**To encourage responsible use of electricity, a very reasonable monthly allowance is provided to Gold Package students. If electricity usage exceeds the allotted amount, the overage will be deducted from the housing deposit at time of check-out.
