Introduction & Teaching Philosophy:
I graduated from The First Branch College of Beijing University. I have taught Chinese Language, Literature and History at The Teacher's University of Beijing for more than 10 years. I have a long and rich history of teaching Chinese. I was born in Beijing and have been living, teaching, and working in Beijing since. I am very familiar with Chinese culture, history, and famous sites.
Currently I am teaching at the CLE Center. I enjoy teaching foreign students Chinese very much. When I see they like speaking Chinese and are interested in Chinese culture and history, I get excited and want to teach them more skills to master correct pronunciation, speaking, and writing. I like talking and exchanging views with them in Chinese about all kinds of topics they like, while at the same time correcting their mistakes on expression and pronunciation.
I know it is very hard for foreign students to study Chinese, not only Chinese characters and pronunciation, but there are also many idioms, literary quotations, and historical stories present in Chinese language. For example, fishing for 3 days and drying the fish net for 2 days (san tian da yu, liang tian shai wang) is an idiom from ancient Chinese. It means somebody lacks perseverance for studying, working or anything else that requires effort. I would tell students this idiom is saying a fisherman did not work very hard at his job, and then I would tell an example to the students that, "If you study Chinese 'san tian da yu, liang tian shai wang,' you will never study Chinese well."
I am so proud of teaching Chinese at CLE. Many students studying here are performing excellently. I hope you will be in one of our courses, and I hope you will learn to speak Chinese fluently and also learn more about China and Chinese culture.
